Why we say cheers while drinking?

Why do people clink glasses and say cheers before drinking?

    Humans got 5 senses.

    Eyes to see

    Nose to smell

    Tounge to taste

    Skin to feel

    But the ears hasnt got any contribution to it. Hence just for peace of mind and to address the 5th sense of the human body. We shout out…. CHEERS
